SD Blogger Meet-Up Pics and Link up Party!

Hello SDStyleBloggers! As previously promoted, Lisa's SD Blogger Meet Up was on Friday night at Vocabulary Boutique in Little Italy. Lisa did such a great job putting it together with cute goodie bags, drinks, raffles and her wonderful hairstylist Franco on-hand for hair consultations.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the girls who came out, most of you I have met and it was so nice to see you again. Some of you I met for the first time and that was awesome too, but the best part was having everyone meet, mix and mingle! Enjoy some pictures of the night and if you blogged about the meet up don't forget to link it up at the bottom of this post!

Special Message

Dear #SDStyleBloggers,

Paulina here, and as you previously read, my San Diego Style Bloggers co-founder Rachel is moving on to another city and another great chapter in her life. I am so happy for her and am so thankful for all of the work she put into this site! We love you Rachel!

When we met almost a year ago and had a great time talking about "blogging stuff" we instantly knew that we needed to share in the experience. San Diego needed a platform/forum for local style bloggers to connect, collaborate, support each other and keep each other up to date of events in San Diego.
Two meet-ups and many events later, San Diego Style Bloggers has grown and so have the opportunities. Many sponsors, companies, event planners contact us to spread the word or use our blogroll to connect with local bloggers. All of this has inspired me to continue to improve this site.
I have enlisted the help of the lovely Lisa from Mona Lisa Marie, who you might already know is throwing a very fun San Diego Blogger Meet-up this upcoming Friday (see details here)! Also, thanks to the success of the V-day Looks Link up (thanks to Tuyaymya) I want to make it a monthly occurrence.
For now, I want to take your suggestions!
What do you want to see on this site?
Share your ideas in the comments below.

I want to make this more of a community site, let me know if you would be interested in being a contributor- would you like to write a post once a month? (email me at SDStyleBloggers@gmail.com)

Lastly, I want to thank you all who have expressed enthusiasm, come out to the meet-ups, and have supported this site. Here's to making it better in 2013! I will see you on Friday!

Love,
Paulina Mo.

Local Business Spotlight: Wax in the City Boutique

One of the subjects San Diego Style Bloggers would like to share more of is the talent of our local businesses. Today we wanted to start that trend by sharing with you our experience at a local beauty business Wax in the City Boutique.

Wax in the City Boutique was kind enough to invite us to sample their services. Located in the Kensington Area right on 3916 Adams Avenue, they offer a full waxing menu for both men and women, as well as a Nail and Make Up Menu at a reasonable price point.

Paulina from Lil Bits of Chic's Experience:
"As soon as I walked into their cute lobby, the receptionist greeted me by name and was extremely friendly. Martha, the manicurist then walked me over to pick out my color and was accommodating in saying she could mix a couple of colors to get the tone I was looking for. I opted for a very light, almost white pink (as can be seen in the pictures) and I was very pleased with the outcome! While Martha did Lisa's nails, not only was I treated to some sangria, but I was taken into one of the waxing rooms to get my eyebrows waxed. I have gotten my eyebrows done at other places before and what stood out to me about Wax in the City is that the process was gentle and my eyebrows weren't red afterward! I highly recommend their services and am sure to return."
Lisa from Mona Lisa Marie's Experience:
"I had a great experience at Wax in the City. Inside I was greeted by friendly staff and cute d├ęcor. I was quickly taken back to the nail station, a big room with blue accent walls. There were several classic and modern nail colors to choose from in order to make a perfect manicure. I was greeted by Martha, my Manicurist who offered me something to drink and started on my relaxing manicure. She perfectly groomed by dry cuticles all with a smile. I decided to pick a light pink color, since Valentine’s Day is coming up, called Strawberry Smoothie. Marta applied two perfect coats of the shellac polish while I sipped on sangria. She finished with a relaxing hand massage, all in an hour. I highly recommend Wax in the City."

Don't forget to 'like' Wax in the City's facebook here as they are always having specials, etc. and make sure to visit their website here, for more info, directions and pricing!
