Featured Style Bloggers: The Short and Sweet of It

Alexa & Kirby from The Short and Sweet of It

How long have you been blogging?
We've been blogging for a little over two years. The Short and the Sweet of It launched in April 2010.

What were the main reasons you started a blog?
We both were looking for a creative outlet; somewhere that allowed us to document and share our ideas and inspiration when  it came to fashion, decor, design, travel, food, etc. We didn't want to box ourselves into any particular theme or genre and ultimately The Short and the Sweet of It grew and developed into something that perfectly represents both of our styles.
What inspires you?
Good books, fellow bloggers, moments of solace, conversation, travel, getting outside.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Alexa: I love to read, go on walks, fiddle around with Photoshop, watch documentaries, spend time with my husband and daughter, and go out to dinners with friends.
Kirby: Alexa and I both love to read (on of the reasons we hit it off in the first place) - my favorite place to read is at the beach while watching the beau surf, run, try new restaurants, plan trips, concerts.
How long have you lived in San Diego? Tell us what you love about SD.
Alexa: I've lived in San Diego for five years. I love the fact that I can wear flip flops in winter and eat meals al fresco year-round. I have a great community of friends here, something that's always made San Diego feel like home, even if Northern California is where I was raised.  Plus, there's not too much to complain about when every day I get to see the sun sink slowly into the Pacific Ocean. It's pretty incredible.
Kirby: I've lived in San Diego for eight years. I went to college in San Diego and haven't left, although I've jumped around to different communities within San Diego. We moved up to North County last fall and are still having fun exploring. I grew up in Newport Beach, so I'm used to the weather (not that I don't appreciate it!), but I love the unpretentious, relaxed feel San Diego has.
